  2. Kristianstad waste management company • Municipal company for waste in the city of Kristianstad. Established 1893. • Staff of 55 employees, 14 in the office and 41 in the production. • Serves 80 000 people in the city of Kristianstad. The population increase to 100 000 people during the summer. • Collects approximately 40 000 ton of household waste every year. Part-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund)

Sorting system for waste in bins • All seat holder in Kristianstad sort out organic waste and combustible in two different bins • The most common system of bins is that each seat holder has a: - Bin for combustible waste - Bin for organic waste • Some block of apartment has semi-underground container - One for combustible waste - One for organic waste Part-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund)

Collection of waste in bins • Kristianstad waste management company collect all waste in bins in Kristianstad • Collection is mostly done with two-parted compressed garbage trucks (14 two-parted compressed garbage trucks, fuel biogas) • Separate space for organic and combustible waste • Semi-underground container is collected by crane truck Part-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund)

  7. Treatment • No own treatment plants • Treatment for waste is done in procurement or sold to treatment plants • Kristianstad waste management company have contract with six different companies for treatment of waste Part-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund)

Producer Responsibility (packages and paper) • ÅVS-public recycling stations • FNI-private recycling points in for example apartment buildings • Kristianstad waste management company have a contract with FTIAB for collecting from public recycling stations • Kristianstad waste management company also collect packages and paper from private recycling points (Others entrepreneur also do this in the city of Kristianstad) • Kristianstad waste management company is responsible for information about packages and paper Part-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund)

Fees for household waste • All costs coverd by waste fees for household waste • Fees are divided into a regulary and a mobile fee - Regulary fees - Recycling centers (22 %) - Administration, invoicing, development, office etc. (19 %) - Mobile fees - Collection (39 %) - Treatment (20 %) • Fees head for a increased sorting of organic waste and packages and a better working environment • Four different of client categories - Single family house - Holiday house - Block of flat - Business Part-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund)
