  3. Getting to Know Me! • I graduated from Pottsgrove High School! • I went to college at Lebanon Valley College. • I am totally excited to be back at Pottsgrove Middle School! • In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two dogs, Layla and Bear.

  4. Class Procedures • When entering class, please pick up all materials for the day. • Put any homework in your class’s homework bin. • Be seated and ready to work when the bell rings.

  5. Class Rules • What class rules should we have? • How can we make the class run smoothly? • How will you learn best? • Help me come up with class rules! • Think, Pair, Share

  6. Silent Interview • In pairs you will interview a partner silently. • Do this by writing questions on a paper, passing it to your partner, and having them write responses. • You have ten minutes!

  7. Silent Interviews • Introduce your partner. • Speak loudly and clearly so your class can hear you! • What questions did you ask? • What were their responses?

  8. Independent Reading Book Selection • IPICK Strategy • I choose a book. • Purpose: Why do I want to read it? • Interest: Does the book interest me? • Comprehension: Am I understanding what I’m reading? • Know: Do I know most of the words?

  9. Reading A-Lyzer • When you have picked your book, signed it out, and have completed the IPICK strategy, you may work on the Reading A-Lyzer!

  10. Summer Tweet • @MySummer Tweets Summer is over and school bells are ringing. Now to learn something with meaning. • Complete the tweet sheet. On the blank tweets, you may come up with your own topic! • Pick your favorite and decorate your final tweet sheet. • Hand in final tweet in your class bin.
