WHY CUB SCOUTS? • Fun with a purpose! • Time-tested program to develop • character and knowledge • Handbook by grade level, age appropriate • achievements and activities centered • on learning about themselves, their • family, community and faith. • Fun games, crafts, field-trips, sports, songs

  11. WHAT IS A PACK? • The group of all Cub Scouts, grades 1 – 5 • The Pack meets once a month for a PACK • meeting -- • about an hour long • recognized boys for their achievements • communicates upcoming events

  12. PACK ACTIVITIES Campouts (fall and spring) Archery & BB Gun at some campouts Canyon Creek 4th of July Parade Pinewood Derby Blue and Gold Banquet Scouting for Food Picnics in the Park Entire Family Welcome!

WHAT'S A DEN? • Small group of 6 – 8 boys • Divided by grade level: • 1st grade – Tigers • 2nd grade – Wolves • 3rd grade – Bears • 4th & 5th grade – Webelos • Meets 2 – 4 times a month • Has a minimum of 2 leaders • Works on achievements • Games & crafts • Opportunities for leadership • Field trips A Den does fun stuff!

  14. WHAT I LEARNED IN SCOUTS I DO EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE ... TRUSTWORTHY RESPECTFUL DEPENDABLE FRIENDLY KIND I AM... I DO MY BEST TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE

  15. PARENT BREAK OUT SESSIONS • By grade level • Experienced leader will meet with each group • Tell you about the specific program for your son • Answer your questions • Assist you with paperwork • About 10 - 20 minutes

  16. IT'S POP, POP, POPCORN TIME! • Popcorn Sales are about to start. Get with your den leader or Den Popcorn Captain and get selling that popcorn. Win fun prizes and maybe get to hit the CubMaster with a pie?! • Picnic in the Park Sept. 8th, 5pm. Popcorn Presentation by Cameron Austin. • Congratulations to the pack on the flag raising! • What do you call a Cub Scout holding a Frisbee?

  17. CHECK OUT PROCEDURES • Fill out Youth Application & Volunteer Application • Complete other forms as needed • Make check payable to Pack 262 for $20 dues (includes National Registration, Boys’ Life, Pack 262 Class B t-shirt, pinewood derby car.) • Receive t-shirt
