  2. What is an ATAR? An ATAR is your competiveness in relation to other applicants and is a rank given to students on a range from 0 to 99.95. Your ATAR is calculated from your university aggregate.

  5. How does SATAC give subjects a mark?

  6. Example of a subject converted to a score Raw Score out of 150: = 110 Raw Score out of 20 (0.2 intervals) 110 x 20 ÷ 150 = 14.6

  7. Example of a subject converted to a score Raw Score out of 150: 22 + 45 + 39 = 106 Raw Score out of 20 (0.2 intervals) 106 x 20 ÷ 150 = 14.2

  8. What is Scaling? • Scaling ensures that results from widely varying subjects can be directly compared • SATAC scale solely for the purpose of selection and because they need to compare the overall achievement of applicants • SATAC looks at how difficult statistically it is to get a high mark in each subject

  9. Bonus Points • Bonus Points are added to the student’s university aggregate BEFORE being converted to an ATAR

FLINDERS UNIVERSITY Students can receive up to a maximum of 9 bonus points - 8 bonus points for rural and isolated students Unity College students automatically receive 8 bonus points - 2 bonus points for LOTE Subjects Students must receive a C- or better in the subject (maximum of 2 bonus points) - 2 bonus points for each Science and Maths subject – Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths Studies, or Specialist Maths Students must receive a C- or better in the subject

UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE Students can receive up to a maximum of 9 bonus points - 6 bonus points for rural and isolated students Unity College students automatically receive 6 bonus points - Bonus points for Specialist Maths and/or a LOTE Subject Two bonus points for a C grade Three bonus points for a B Grade Four bonus points for an A Grade Please note Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery does not include bonus points for subjects.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA Students can receive up to a maximum of 9 bonus points - 5 bonus points for rural and isolated students Unity College students automatically receive 5 bonus points - 2 bonus points for subjects relevant to the UniSA program in which students have applied Student must receive a C or higher in the subject (up to a maximum of 5 bonus points awarded for subjects) Download table http://www.unisa.edu.au/future/year12/bonuspoints/
