4. Shutdown : Transport of used targets From ISOLDE target area to storage area at CERN • First intervention in the target area (to reduce the dose rate) • Use of “Type A” container for the transport of 24 targets • Average dose rate : 2.18 mSv/h @ 40 cm and 8.1 mSv/h max. • Collective dose of 982 man.mSv for the whole operation • Lessons learnt will be used for transport in 2012 ISOLDE Workshop and Users meeting 2011

5. Replacement of GPS FE#4 by FE#7 • Replacement of GPS FE (HRS done in 2010) • Very complex interventions involving several groups • Collective dose: 7.6man.mSv ISOLDE Workshop and Users meeting 2011

Front End maintenance Example : Replacement of extraction electrode • Permanent improvement of processes following RP recommendations • Example: development of new tool for extraction electrode replacement • HRS FE#6 maintenance in 2011 : 3.7 man.mSv 1 Sv/h on contact (with b emitters) + very high contamination ISOLDE Workshop and Users meeting 2011

8. Shielding efficiency assessment • Motivations: • Linac4 injector for the PS Booster • PS Booster energy from 1.4 GeV to 2 GeV • HIE-ISOLDE project • Can ISOLDE “digest” the energy and intensity increase ? • Extensive radiation measurement campaign performed in 2010-2011 • Shielding performances is one of many RP aspects to address ! ISOLDE Workshop and Users meeting 2011

9. Original beam parameters for design… Design: 2.2 mA @ 1.0 GeV = 2.2 kW Today : 2 mA @ 1.4 GeV = 2.8 kW Future: 4mA @ 2.0 GeV = 8.0 kW ? ISOLDE Workshop and Users meeting 2011
