THE PROJECT LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer Of Innovation EGO aims to contribute to the recognition of gender quality systems by transferring a company model for quality – already identified in the “A.D.O. - Azienda Donna Oriented” – project funded by the Regione Toscana POR in the period 2000-2006. Embraces an extensive European network (IT, ES, CS, BG, PT) which will see the implementation of positive actions, continuing training, awareness raising, improvement of job organisation at work, the implementation of formalised procedures, checks and certification and gender mainstreaming. The main result expected is: 4 European companies (2 in Italy, 1 in Bulgaria, 1 in Portugal) to obtain "EGO - Enterprise Gender Oriented“ certification, while 5 organisations (2 in Italy, 2 in Spain, 1 in the Czech Republic will receive training in gender quality systems. MAIN OBJECTIVE LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer Of Innovation The Project’s main aim is to contribute to the fulfillment of the Lisbon objectives concerning female employment via adaptation, the transfer and awareness-raising of a “gender oriented” quality certification system. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES / 1 LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer Of Innovation to transfer the ADO experience along a path that enables SMEs to obtain certification as being "gender oriented" and become bearers of a management practice consistent with the culture of equality and social responsibility that improve women's conditions at work, promoting work/life balance and leading to a broader representation of women in decision-making positions to promote quality and innovation in VET systems, institutions and practices as it seeks to introduce formal certification based on gender quality as an innovation within companies, using training to achieve the standards. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES / 2 LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer Of Innovation to produce a new kind of certification at European level that can be complementary to other certification normally observed by companies that implement quality systems to promote cooperation between institutions by learning opportunities, encouraging new and innovative content-based courses, through the exchange of experiences and best practices at both professional, cultural and language level and through the involvement of "parallel networks" of subjects who support the action planning and increase their skills, by the development of innovative practices within SMEs that are transferable to other contexts, by offering a simplified, sustainable and transferable model of certification thanks to formal national recognition. TARGET BENEFICIARIES LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer Of Innovation Direct Beneficiaries: Company Managers, Managers and staff in Human Resources, workers in companies trying out the certification, staff in the partner organisations directly involved in the project. Indirect Beneficiaries: Local government bodies, trade organisations, companies potentially interested in testing gender certification and replicating the experience, staff from companies that have benefited from the dissemination products, training systems in the 5 partner nations, national organisations for developing the experience as a standard.   13. MACROPHASE /1 LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation The project is divided into three macro phases that are transversal to all the activities planned for the work packages: 1. Analysis of the starting product and of the needs of the new target, comparison and first adaptation of the products to European level. All nation partners will contribute to the cultural, linguistic and cultural updating and adaptation of the model as well as of the existing teaching materials that are to facilitate transfer.   14. MACROPHASE / 2 LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation 2. The application and testing of the model in the companies involved in the project (2 companies in IT, 1 in PT, 1 in BG). During this phase the lifelong learning will be implemented in the target group (management, supervisors and staff in human resource departments). This stage will also see the awareness raising amongst the staff of the companies involved in the project and support of these companies in obtaining “gender oriented” certification. Another 5 organisations will participate in the awareness raising stage, processes for peer review on gender themes and the social responsibility of the company. 3. Extensive transfer of the experience: the production and dissemination of new materials at national and European level and execution of the project’s valorisation plan. There will be activities of management and coordination, monitoring and evaluation in order to respect the quality criteria and activities of policy learning and policy transfer for the dissemination and sustainability of the results EGO, Kick-off Meeting, Porto, 14-15 January 2010

  15. PROJECT COMMITTEES LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation Technical Scientific Committee: comprising the technical representatives of the partners who are involved in the structural outlining and technical-operative elements in the activities and will deal with the technical tasks for the management and coordination of the activities from all points of view. Mainstreaming Committee: comprising partners and silent partners from the parallel network (trade unions and equal opportunity organisations) which has a purely guiding function, handling the relationships within and without the partnership for the integration of the project into the local systems. OPERATIVE ROLES FOR EACH PARTNER/ 1 LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation P0 Provincia di Livorno (IT): applicant coordinator of the project will have policy decision making/local government decision making powers for the actions to be piloted in the area P1 Provincia di Livorno Sviluppo (IT): will be the coordinator and manager, responsible for the technical and operative coordination of the project action, the management of the partnership and the testing of the certification P2 ANCCP - Agenzia Nazionale Certificazione Componenti e Prodotti srl (IT) is responsible for the review of the standard, auditing and the standardisation of certification at a national level P3 CIVITA SRL, (IT) will host the testing in Sicily. OPERATIVE ROLES FOR EACH PARTNER/ 2 LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation P4 ACZ, spol. s r.o., Czech Republic, P6 Asociacion de Mujeres Empresarias de Cooperativas (AMECOOP), Spain and P7 Union de Cooperativas Madrilenas de Trabajo Asociado (UCMTA), Spain will support the project actions, especially concerning the policies for continuing training, gender dynamics and the respect of principles of equality, they will participate in the project meeting and peer review on gender policies; P5 Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovacao (SPI), Portugal and P9 European Centre for Quality Ltd (ECQ Ltd.), Bulgaria will host the transnational experimentation and test the gender certification in companies, thereby giving European scope to this innovative quality certification. EXPECTED RESULTS/ 1 LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation In the short-medium term the project aims to: certify 4 organisations with “gender oriented” certification (2 in IT, 1 in BG, 1 in PT) involve 5 partners in processes of transnational peer review, exchange and comparison on the subject of parity in the workplace (2 in SP, 2 in IT, 1 in CZ) involve 8 organisations in the “parallel network” for mainstreaming activities train 40 human resource managers and staff as well as general managers; train 20 managers in reconciliation/sharing and Diversity Management theme; raise awareness among 100 employees on the theme of equal opportunities in the workplace EGO, Kick-off Meeting, Porto, 14-15 January 2010

  19. EXPECTED RESULTS/ 2 LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation at least one recognition of the equality standard in ISO certification at least 10 measures for equality being adopted by the companies that are to test the scheme as a result of their participation in the project, 25 members of staff in the partner organisations will improve their knowledge concerning the policies of equal opportunities at least 5 regional agreements/protocols or round tables to promote “gender oriented” certification. In the long term the project aims to reach: 30 companies, 20 local authorities, 1000 workers, 30 social organisations interested in the project’s results, 5 national lifelong learning systems in the 5 partner states.   21. MEETINGS E EVENTS LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation The project activities include meetings, round tables and Technical Scientific Committees so that encounters can provide opportunities for the dissemination and sharing of the activities with local and transnational networks. A total of 6 meetings have been planned during the 24 months of activity between the partnership organisations. These are to be held about every four months and in each of the partner nations (IT, CS, SP, PT, BG). There will be a final meeting in Brussels for the presentation of the results obtained.
