  2. The Children My issue is Children, their survival and overall well-being. For instance their lack of food, shelter, clothing, education or anything else to that effect, needs to be eliminated.

  3. What is Happening? It is recognized that Children are in sufficient need of aid in the Middle East. There are many countries where children are starving and hurt because their families are poor and cannot afford to support them. For this reason, there are some organizations developed to help these children. UNICEF for example is probably one of the largest organizations dedicated to helping children. They work to insure the survival, development, protection, etc. of children.

  4. UN Affect on Children The UN has a major affect on the children in the Middle East. The organization mentioned earlier, UNICEF, was established by the UN. In 1953, the General Assembly, converted UNICEF into a permanent child-aid organization, to improve “the indescribably miserable conditions in which hundreds of millions of children lived in the developing countries.” It has been in the forefront of the UN system’s commitment to children — their survival, protection and development— ever since.

  5. The Future If UNICEF continues its efforts to help the Children, I think the future of some will certainly be better than they had. Of course, it will take a lot of time for UNICEF to reach all endangered children, and they may not even know about some who will never be rescued. I think some issues may be resolved, but certainly not all issues will be able to be fixed as quickly as others. Also while some issues may be solved in one area it may not be in another area.
