Courses MTEW/Master of Business Economics All FEB bachelor degree holders can take this major • Courses can be followed without having taken the Managerial Economics and Strategy Major in their Bachelor. • With the exception of : Applied Game Theory & Economics of Information. (Minor Strategy and Innovation MTEW/MBE) • This is an advanced course and students should have previously taken Applied Industrial Organisation/Theory of Industrial Organisation(or equivalent courses) in their Bachelor

Courses – General Information Courses are taught in English: • English language skills are essential for most career perspectives • Allows international student intake (MBE major + exchange students) Organization of the Courses: • Courses combine theory and applications: what’s the value of theory in practice? • Courses involve team projects in which theory is applied to business cases/industries • Most other courses evaluate students on a combination of team papers/presentations and an individual exam • Requires active participation by students: interactive and rewarding
Master’s Thesis MTEW/MBE • Individually written Thesis, about 15000 words • Scientifically founded analysis of subject matter within the domain – theory & empirical work/in-depth cases • Theses can also focus on empirical analysis closely related to ongoing academic research at the department • Extensive list of topics with research questions and literature will be made available in October. • Helps students to start the thesis quickly. • Transparent and organized allocation based on ‘best match’ topic, student, and coach/supervisor • But substantial room for development of (sensible and interesting) own topics • Theses are expected/recommended to be written in English • To foster English language skills • To allow presenting the thesis to a foreign audience • To allow benefitting from the guidance by our growing staff of foreign PhD students • The MSI department will provide info sessions and general introductory sessions on academic English, academic research methods (statistical analysis, Stata), paper writing, and case study methodology
