  1. Colour scheme The colour scheme of the double page spread is red, yellow, black and white. These colours are simple and bold, all of the colours contrast with one another, this makes the double page spread look creative and the colours also make the pages look busy and dramatic. Masthead The masthead runs from the left hand side of the magazine to the right hand side of the magazine, the masthead reinforces the brand for example ‘Kerrang’ the unique font is only used as the masthead this helps the audience releases that. Headline The headline on this article is ‘Fall Out Boy’, the style of the font is the same as the drop capital . This fonts attracts the readers attention and entices them to want to buy the magazine. It is also bold and bright this also helps to fascinate the audience as it stands out from the rest of the other magazines, also the contrast between the black, yellow and red make it easier to read for the readers. Columns The column on the double page spread this suggests that there is more then one page with the information about the band. The test is written in a white font this sticks out to the reader against the dark background, this will make it more readable to the audience. Caption on image The caption on the image is used as this informs the reader who the image of the band/ artist is. Main image The image of the band/ artist which In this case is ‘Fall Out Boy’ takes up the whole of the two pages on the double page spread, all the people in the band are facing directly at the camera, this is direct address as it makes the audience feel like the band are reaching out to them and it entices them want to buy the magazine. Quotes Normally the quotes from the band are placed around the article however in my example there is no quotes available. Moreover, the quote helps to break up the text so the reader wont look at the text and just see the columns. This also hints the reader what will be included in the article. s Drop Capital The drop capital is bigger and bolder then the rest of the font and is bold this is so the reader will then know where the article starts and can begin reading the information about the artist/ band. Graphic features These are bold and bright shapes and colours that are used to entice the reader to the magazine and the colours also contrasts to the other colours for example the yellow, black and red are used and makes it stand more out to the audience and attracts them to buy the magazine.
