  2. What are they made of & Origin • Most materials for the jeans made with 100% cotton and dyed with indigo coloring making the jeans into blue jeans. (blue jeans) • Blue jeans originated their name from the fabric used to make them, a blue dye from and indigo plant gave the denim the blue shade. In 2500 B.C all around the world indigo was used as a dye. They would import indigo from India until the twentieth century until when synthetic indigo was developed (blue jeans)

  3. Step one. • After getting the materials to create the jeans, you need to have the other materials for the certain style that you want. These materials include zippers, buttons, embroidery, labels and tags. Zippers and buttons are made from steel or copper. (A how-to guide to making your own jeans )

  4. Step two • You have to process the yarn, manufacturers buy ginned cotton and then processing it to cotton yarn. They do it by placing it in a machine with cotton cards. Move cotton into different sets of machines where it is pulled and twisted into yarn. (A how-to guide to making your own jeans )

  5. Step three • After dying cotton yarn you have to dye the denim before it is woven. The yarn has to be threaded large balls known as warps is dipped into a indigo dye repeatedly. The dye layers are added into the yarn. That is why the denim fades when you wash them after a time. (A how-to guide to making your own jeans )

  6. Step four • You have to weave the yarn for blue jeans. Yarn is placed on a mechanically operated loom. Vertical threads on the on the loom are created of the blue yarn, and the horizontal threads have the blue dyed yarn with the fine white thread. Once the woven is the cloth will be treated to remove loose threads and is also preshrunk. (A how-to guide to making your own jeans )

  7. Step five • You have to choose a certain design pattern once you do that you can cut and make the specific pattern. The denim is cut with high speed cutting machine. A pair of jeans can contain about ten different pieces, from the pockets to the waist band. The pieces of denim are ready to be sewn once you have the patterns and pieces you need. Sewing is done in a assembly line with rows of human operated sewing machines. Each person is assigned a different job, making a belt loop or a back pocket. Each person works on one thing then passes it down slowly, layer by layer creating the pair of jeans. Once everything is sewn in place the jeans are hemmed and the rivets are placed in the appropriate places (How are jeans made)

  8. Finally • Once all the jeans are finished they are pressed into a machine that steam irons them, after that they put a size tag in and they fold the jeans and organize them according to the style and size before being sent to the warehouse. • A buyer will order the jeans and will have them sent to the store from the warehouse (A how-to guide to making your own jeans )

  9. Conclusion • There are many types of jeans and many ways to make them. • Most jeans you have to go through the same process and procedures to make them.
