  2. How Are Swimsuits Made?

  3. Shopping of swimwear is far easy task then producing and manufacturing it. Have you think upon the fact how your swimwear remains same year after year without being stretched out after so many uses? What prevents the water from entering the swimsuit?

  4. There are varieties of swimsuits available from one piece, two pieces to the most popular bikinis for enjoying at the enjoying and laying down in the sun. Men swimsuits styles are also abundant. Men swimwear varies from male bikinis to new style trunks and boxer shorts.

  5. History of Fabrics

  6. Swimming gained much popularity in 20th century. It was in 20th century that the demand for proper swimwear for swimming arose. Initially, swimsuits were made from handmade fabrics that were not that suitable for swimming. Later, the fabric was changed and the swimmers no longer were weighed down in water. The fabric initially used was rayon which is now replaced with lycra. The old fabrics were not suitable as those easily used to wear out after a single use, moreover the color also used to fade.

  7. The swimwear fabric gathering much demand these days is named “fastskin”. This fabric is sharp like material which allows swimmers to swim fast and easily. It is manufactured by designer Speedo.

  8. Dying of material

  9. After the fabric is manufactured, it is then either colored or dyed. The two elements which destroy or fade up the color of the fabric are the sun and the saline and salty water. Now the question arises that how designers manage their swimwear fabric from fading or losing their color?

  10. This all depends upon the different dying processes the fabric has to go through. Normally, swimsuits are colored with the help of synthetic dyes. The method of dying the fabric varies depending upon the material. One of the ways of dying deals with the insertion of fabric into the mixture of water and dye. Another process requires putting the fabric into a special metallic solution and the dye or color is poured over the respective solution. This way the dye is absorbed by the fabric, changing the cloth into the color of the dye.

  11. Testing

  12. In the end the swimsuits are send for testing of quality and excellence. In this, finally the swimsuits are kept under keen practical observation and it is checked that they are capable of sustaining under difficult weather conditions, the sunlight. It is thoroughly checked that the stretching material is not worn out after a single use. The swimsuits are never sold out without performing these tasks.
