Popular Cross Country, Definition • ICR 380 • PCCC arecompetitions open to all CC competitors, licensedand non-licensed, withoutlimitation on competitiondistanceorformat. • „Popular“ refersto a format in Cross Country racing, withmass –startdistancesofat least 30 km forladiesand 50 km formen, full –lengthcompetitioncourses, andterraindictatedbythenaturallandscape.

  4. Structureof PCC • Worldloppet • Euroloppet • National PCC Series (RussiaLoppet, Suisse Loppet etc.) • Other PCCC in the FIS Calender

FIS Marathon Cup • FMC was instituted in a cooperationbetween FIS andtheWorldloppet Ski Federationfortheseason 1999/2000 • FMC istheinofficial WC forlongdistanceraces • In theseason 2010/11 11 Races (4 FT/7 CL) • Rules for FMC atwww.worldloppet.com • FMC is open to all male andfemaleathleteswith an active FIS Code • All competitors must complywith FMC rulesand OC racerules

FIS Marathon Cup • Elite Start Group („Red Group“) getsspecialserviceforaccomodation (See rules) • Guaranteedpricemoney per raceof 21 TEUR forthebestsixladiesandmen • Overall pricemoneyof 31,3 TEUR also forthebestsixladiesandmen • FIS Marathon Cup pointsforthebest 30 skiersfrom 100 pointsto 1 point

  7. FIS Marathon Cup • Important: Time limit ! Togetpointsiswinner time + 10 % • New sinceseason 2009/10 regular FIS Points. Also time limit. Winner time + 10% • Importantforthe TD to check the FIS codes • Possibilitythat in someracesskierswithno FIS Code are in the time limit! • Rules on FIS Webside – FIS points on FMC competitions

Differencesbetween CC and PCC in TD Work and Rules 1st weare TD • The focusofthe TD shouldbe : • The safety : check ofinsurance, rescue plan, safety on course, plan ofjurywork in caseof extrem condition • The course : snowproductionplanning, settingsnow on trackplanning, tracksettingplanning (time, numberofmachines, etc…), safetyprotection on tracks, feedingposition, firstrescueposition • The stadium : • Start : organisationwithclothes, toilets, groupsentriesdoor, ski marking, startinggates, thestarter. Start stadium in caseofpoorsnowcondition. • Finish: lenght, width, corridors, foto finish, ski control, organisationofthefacilities • The facilities : transport, clothestransport, shower, feeding, transport back tostartifany.
