  6. What are the goals of this workshop? • To learn how to enter Marks and Comments in Teacher Assistant • To learn how to modify Marks and Comments • To have hands-on experience in TRAIN • To be able to train teachers at your schools

Reminders • Documents and tutorials are posted on the eSIS Website: http://esis.k12.hi.us eSIS Website User Name: esis training Password: esis1 • Check with your Registrar: • Timeline for Mark Entry (Start and End Dates) • Reporting Period for Comment • Check with your Administrator • Procedures to add school comments to eSIS Standard Comments

TA Mark Entry Helpful Hints Write marks on a roster before entering marks Marks from previous reporting period will appear in the Previous column (auto-generated) Attendance will be auto-generated Do NOT enter more than one comment Do NOT enter marks in any other column Do NOT enter marks in the Final column Do NOT enter absences or tardies Click on the Mark entry is complete box

  9. Hands On - Class Record Report • Select Reports button • Click on the Class Record button • Select items on parameter form • Click on the Continue button • Fill in the column headings • Click OK • Print reports

Hands On – Mark Entry • Select radio buttons for Classes and CurrentStudents • Click on Mark Entry button • Select the correct Course Length and Reporting Period • Highlight the class for mark entry • Click on the Students button • Enter the mark for student(s) in the Mark column • Enter comments in the column between the View and first question mark column • Click on the Mark entry is complete box • Save • Use the previous arrow to continue to enter marks for the next class or exit through the blue door

Hands On – Modify TA Mark Entry • Select radio buttons for Classes and Current Students • Click on Mark Entry button • Select the correct Course Length and Reporting Period • Highlight class for mark entry • Click on the Students button • Query student for mark/comment change • Modify or Delete mark(s) • Modify or Delete comment(s) • Save • Use the previous arrow to continue to enter marks for the next class or exit through the blue door

  12. Hands On - Mark List Report • Select Reports button • Click on the Mark List button • Select items on parameter form • Click on the Printer icon • Print reports

  13. Printing Report Cards • Teachers do not have access to print report cards in Teacher Assistant • Report Cards will be printed by the Registrar

Reminders to School Trainers • Use TRAIN database: • Sample login : school_teacher1 • URL: https://esistrain.k12.hi.us:7777 • Be sure to have sufficient login sheets for your training • See Security Contact for 30 TRAIN Teacher logins per school • Test your logins before training to ensure they are working correctly • Request EARLY if logins need to be reset • Send request to Help eSIS • Do a practice run before your training session • Verify that Mark Entry and Report Card Comments are setup at your school

School Training Evaluation Forms • Download forms from eSIS website Secondary Schools > Forms > Teacher Trainers • Evaluation Form • Sign In Sheet • Evaluation Summary • Keep forms filed at your school for reference • Professional Development • Fax (692-7252) or email a copy of the Evaluation Summary to Help eSIS
