Fire & Rescue Services - PFI Projects in UK • According to a review commissioned by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Fire and Rescue Service PFI Programme in UK has been broadly successful • on time construction of buildings • high quality buildings and fittings • good ongoing partnerships between the Fire Authorities and contractors • examples of collaboration and innovation

  7. The Byng Street Project • In 1993, a new site acquired at Byng Street, London • The Home Secretary’s approval was obtained to the “closure of the existing Millwall fire station and replacing it with a new 4 bay, 2 appliances station at Byng Street”
