  5. Today’s Agenda • End of year process • End of year testing • State exit criteria • SPED students • Non-LEP students (next year scheduling) • Required forms/documentation • Reminders • LPAC Administrator responsibilities • Questions & Answers

  6. End of year process • Schedule meetings with parent and required teachers • Ensure documentation is filled out PRIOR to meetings • Set deadlines to complete tasks • Complete LPAC Administrator checklist before school ends

  7. EOY Calendar

  8. Who should be involved? • LPAC administrator • LPAC parent • LPAC bilingual/ESL teacher(s) • Suggested schedule to rotate coverage among teachers • TIA’s cannot cover during LPAC meetings

  9. What should be addressed? • Annual end of year review for students SERVED • Annual review of LEP/SPED students whose exit criteria was established prior to Feb. 1st • End of year monitoring for waiver/denial students • End of year monitoring for 1st year exited students • End of year monitoring for 2nd year exited students • Identify non-LEP students for regular mainstreaming next year • Identify students who meet all exit criteria and provide list/minutes to clerk & bilingual/ESL dept.

  10. End of year testing • New students to the state of Texas & Pre-K and Kinder students • Student must have been tested with TELPAS the year prior or EOY SELP must be administered • Established baseline must match EOY assessment (i.e.- TELPAS to TELPAS, SELP to SELP)

  12. Students receiving SPED services • Include students in roster for EOY procedures • MUST meet all criteria listed in order to reclassify as non-LEP • Provide a copy to diagnostician • Criteria on sheet must not be adjusted

  13. Before February 1, 2012 Review at EOY **Form must be attached to Annual end of year review**

  14. Non-LEP students • Do not include on bilingual/ESL roster for next year • Verify coding is appropriate on PEIMS • Must fill out Non-LEP form every year and applied only if space allows • Please conference with parent on purpose of this request • Include student on monolingual roster

Required Forms for blue folder • SPED/LEP students: Exit Criteria Form • Annual end of year review form • Exit monitoring form (1st & 2nd year monitoring) • Monitoring for denial students • Minutes (LEP served, denials, 1st/2nd yr. monitoring • Program exit form mailed to parents (copy in folder) • Parental report on student progress (EOY testing) • Blue folder checklist

  18. Next year planning • Beginning of year training will be held in August • Register for training on staff development website • Training for parents will also be in August
