ESSIP Plan 2014: Objective ITY-ACID for Aircraft Identification Implementation
The ESSIP Plan 2014 outlines the new objective ITY-ACID, focusing on the implementation actions related to the second milestone of the EU Regulation 1206/2011 concerning Aircraft Identification. This current edition introduces significant developments in compliance requirements and emphasizes the completion of necessary upgrades to surveillance and communication systems by 2020. Key supporting materials, analysis from the objective coordinator, and training protocols are elaborated to assist stakeholders. Insights into relevant SLoAs and contact information for coordinators are also included.

Objective ITY-ACID • Explanation • What is new or has changed since previous ESSIP edition • Link to European ATM Master Plan • Most important SLoA(s) • Finalisation Criteria and Closed Questions • Supporting Material • ESSIP Report 2013 • Objective Coordinator’s Analysis, recommendations, tips & tricks • Conclusions • Links and contacts ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
Explanation • Objective derived from the SES Regulation on Aircraft Identification (EU) 1206/2011 • Only addressing the planning actions related to the implementation of the 2nd milestone of the Regulation (2.01.2020) • 1st milestone (02.2012) is completely outside the scope of the ESSIP objective (it is dealt with by EASA through the SES Report) • Discrete SSR codes are still expected to be used in the foreseeable future, by to a lesser extent ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
What is new or has changed since previous ESSIP edition • N/A (New objective) ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
Link to European ATM Master Plan • Enabler GGSURV01. ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
Most important SLoA(s) • ASP01 addressing the capability of the surveillance chain to handle the downlinked aircraft identification ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
Finalisation Criteria and Closed Questions • The relevant systems allowing the establishment of individual aircraft identification using the downlinked aircraft identification have been put into service • All concerned personnel has been trained • No closed questions ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
Supporting Material • As specified in SLoAs detailed descriptions ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
ESSIP Report 2013 • N/A (new objective) ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
Objective Coordinator’s Analysis, recommendations, tips & tricks • The objective if focussing on the 2020 milestone • Compliance with the 2020 milestone may imply major upgrades of systems (e.g. surveillance and communication systems, SDPD, FDPD, HMI, etc) • Compliance with the 2012 milestone is not covered by the ESSIP objective. It has to be reported to EASA ESSIP Plan 2014 / Objective ITY-ACID
