  7. Supportive Middle schools in LEUSD GEMS at EMS Gifted students often have difficulty finding friends who share their quirks. GEMS students form close friendships as they meet others who have similar interests

  8. Supportive Middle schools in LEUSD GEMS at EMS Most teachers have limited exposure with gifted learners. GEMS teachers “get” your student We understand their unique needs.

  9. Supportive Middle schools in LEUSD GEMS at EMS Many gifted students are the target of bullies during middle school. GEMS students support each other in class and on campus to aid with the difficult middle school years.

  12. Advanced Middle schools in LEUSD GEMS at EMS Grade level curriculum is taught at a slower pace to allow all levels of students to learn. Grade level curriculum is taught at a faster pace with greater depth & complexity.

  13. Advanced Middle schools in LEUSD GEMS at EMS Gifted students are often bored in class, waiting for classmates to catch up. GEMS students work at an accelerated pace keeping them engaged in learning.

  14. RESULTS – Spelling Bee Our students win consistently at district and county levels.

  15. RESULTS - Science Fairs Each year, our students win top awards at the district and county levels. We’ve sent a student to the State Science Fair 5 times in last 6 years!

  16. Advanced Middle schools in LEUSD GEMS at EMS Gifted students do not express themselves in class due to negative peer pressure. Our classes of gifted learners bring about amazing discussions !

  17. Advanced Middle schools in LEUSD GEMS at EMS Opportunities for learning extension activities are limited. Hands-on projects & experiments are common for GEMS students

  19. 7th Grade - CIMI Science Focus – Life Science 5 days on Catalina

  20. 8th Grade – Astro Camp Science Focus – Physical Science 3 Days in Idyllwild

  22. ELECTIVES - TECH LAB Students get hands-on experiences in making projects in several technical fields: Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing, Graphics, Research & Development.
