  1. 1)How does Policy 703 balance the due consideration of the offending student with the rights of other students to learn in a positive environment? All individuals treated with respect Pupils have a right to be taught & to learn without being disrupted by others c. Pupils responsible for their own behaviour based on their stage of development & the degree to which the behaviour is voluntary d. Solutions/interventions must take the needs of the offending student AND the others students into account e. If it is necessary to remove the offending student the goal is to return them to the classroom

  2. 2)   Policy 703 outlines the expectations for the development of the school positive learning plan. Explain this process and the reasoning behind it.  • a. Superintendent will ensure the plans are developed • Principal is responsible for ensuring a school plan is in • place • Plan will be developed after gathering input from • pupils, teachers, admin, parents, resource and support • staff, bus drivers and volunteers. • Director must approve the plan and review it every two • years • d.   3. 3) How does Policy 703 relate to Bill 45? Policy 703 provides the expectations for ALL behaviour by students, parents, and school personnel that impact the learning environment of the school. The wording of Bill 45 ties all matters relating to cyber-bullying to Policy 703. In this way the two laws provide schools and districts with the authority to set guidelines and consequences that fall within the revised scope of behaviours outlined in the two documents.
