Locating HISD Curriculum Documents in CLEAR Online

1. Locating HISD Curriculum Documents in CLEAR Online Easy Steps to finding Vertical Alignment Matrices, Horizontal Alignment Planning Guides, TEKS/TAKS Correlations

2. Login to the HISD employee portal. You will need to know your User ID and password.

3. Once in the portal, find the CLEAR 2007-2008 link under the HISD Application Links section. Click the link to open the CLEAR Online application.

4. You are now in the CLEAR Online application. Find the navigation tabs across the top of the page.

5. To navigate to a Vertical Alignment Matrix (VAM) document, select the Vertical Tab. Notice a set of boxes appear under the tab.

6. Click on the to see the Content Area choices. Scroll down the pull-down menu to highlight your selection. Do the same for the Grade Span menu.

7. Click after the Content Area and Grade Span selections have been made.

8. The Vertical Alignment Matrix (VAM) will appear. This pdf document can be printed or saved to your computer.

9. To navigate to a Horizontal Alignment Planning Guide (HAPG), select the Horizontal Tab. Notice a different set of boxes appear under the tab.

10. Make the appropriate selections from left to right. Scroll down to the desired grade level.

11. Select the desired Content Area from the list and then the Grading Period.

12. The selection options will differ between elementary and secondary because of the different grade cycles.

13. After making the selections, click the button to access the specified document.

14. Detailed information about how to use these curriculum documents is provided through curriculum training workshops.

15. A third document called the TEKS/TAKS Correlations is also available. Click the TEKS/TAKS Correlation button to open the document.

16. The TEKS/TAKS Correlations shows the alignment between HISD objectives and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

17. The TEKS/TAKS Correlations for all the courses included in a specific VAM are accessible by accessing that particular VAM first.

18. Click the from the pull-down menu, scroll down to select the desired course, and click on to open the TEKS/TAKS Correlations document.

19. Detailed information about how to use these curriculum documents is provided through curriculum training workshops.

20. Courses not available through CLEAR Online The current application does not accommodate courses that have been added since its creation.
