May Day, celebrated on the first of May, marks the arrival of warmer weather and the blooming of flowers. It is traditionally a time for love and romance, often highlighted by the crowning of a May Queen in some villages. Morris Dancing is a historic English tradition from this month where dancers, adorned with bells and holding handkerchiefs, perform lively dances. Although many Maypole traditions have faded, some communities still engage in them. At St. Vincent’s, we hold a May Procession, honoring Mary with flowers and celebration.
