Undergraduate Education Renewal • Current year Initiatives • Completed comprehensive inventory and review of all General Education Courses • Analyze results with recommendations by the end of the summer • Faculty development support for significant redesign of general education courses to focus on learner centered teaching, use of technology and assessment • 10-15 proposals expected by next week • “Open Source” approach to prioritize specific changes to the undergraduate educational experience • Prepare proposals for action by faculty (examples) • Writing across the curriculum • Senior Capstone • First year Academic Seminar

Institutional Diversity and Inclusion • On going and summer Initiatives • Review policies and procedures that may unintentionally create real or perceived barriers to an inclusive environment • Developed a faculty learning community to ensure diversity is being embedded into the curriculum (pedagogy and content) and that learning outcomes are achieved. • Partnering with affinity groups (faculty and students) on campus to ensure that all faculty/staff search committees have appropriate representations
