Academic Affairs Committee • Education Sessions at ASM 2011 • 5 sessions addressing Design Education, Software Engineering, Best Practices, Innovations in Instruction & Projects, Space Systems and Microgravity Flight Opportunities • Co-sponsorship with Aircraft Design, Design Engineering, ThermophysicsTC’s • Software in Aerospace Engineering Curricula • AAC working with SSTC, ADCA and others to begin the process of examining whether structured programming and/or software engineering and/or software design should be mentioned within ABET Program Criteria for Aerospace

  2. Academic Affairs Committee Programs must demonstrate that students have experience applying structured programming and software engineering in the context of aeronautical or astronautical problems?

  3. Academic Affairs Committee Ron Kohl has been involved in the large systems development and integration business for over 30 yrs. Ron is now President of R. J. Kohl & Assoc, a provider of systems engineering consulting services and is also a part time Visiting Scientist at the Software Engineering Institute. Ron is an Associate Fellow of the AIAA, and current member and former Chair of the Software Systems TC; member of the Computer Systems TC and Space Colonization TC, and also active in the IEEE.
