  9. TCYS Baskets • LT FFA Alumni received 12 baskets • Inventory list: • The baskets are in my garage and we will dispose of them shortly • We gave Emily Cotton Reserve Lamb basket (Yeti cooler) to Direct Propane

  10. TCYS Bidding Overview The BIG Picture • Youth Fair and livestock auctions play out like 2 completely different auctions • YF auction is more like a real auction with competing bidders • YF bidders would rather win the bid outright and not be included on a bid sheet. Because of this, LT FFA Alumni was not high bidder on a single YF item—instead we were an ADD-ON. • Livestock is a faux auction with orchestrated bidding up to the total amount collected on the bid sheet • Livestock bidders are more about spreading the money around and putting $100-$200 on the bid sheets—LT FFA Alumni was high bidder on a majority of livestock projects (but not all) • Some bidders only participate in YF and some only participate in livestock, there are a few bidders that participate in both

  11. TCYS Bidding Overview The Process • Alumni fill out bid sheets for each LT lot with our bid amount on line 1 • Each floor member select 3-4 kids to increase bid amount • Floor member circles the floor soliciting additional bids for LT kids they are currently working • Return bid sheets to home base and select next batch • Repeat steps 2-4 for 12 hours until your brain is mush and everybody is out of money. Only stopping twice to go to the bathroom, woof down some brisket and a chug a bloody Mary.

  12. TCYS Bidding Overview Show me the money • LT FFA Alumni distributes funds equally among all LT students • Exception: Students of non-participating parents • How your animal places has ZERO relevance on amount of money received at auction • Exception: Grand/Reserve champions • If some LT project seemed to go for some a much higher price than the typical LT project, it was probably due to some outside entity other than LT FFA Alumni

  13. TCYS Bidding Overview Greatest Bang for the Buck • Send TARGETED letters to TCYS buyers • Share list with Alumni officers • Do business with TCYS buyers • Support buyer groups fundraising events • Get add-ons from business YOU frequent • Get add-ons from family • Know somebody with money
