  5. The Nucleus • Nuclear Envelope: A membrane that surrounds the nucleus. • Chromatin: Strands floating in the nucleus containing genetic material. This is how the cell knows what to do. (DNA) • DNA: Blue Print • Chromosomes: Filing Cabinet • Nucleolus: A small structure where ribosomes are produced.
