  3. Citrus Growers’ Development Chamber (CGDC) • 2010 – establishment of a forum for emerging growers • Purpose: To address industry issues specifically relevant to emerging growers • Representation: 15 representatives from citrus producing magisterial districts, elected by growers

  4. CGDC Representation The CGDC is represented on: • CGA board of directors • Variety Focus Groups • CGA Logistics Forum • Citrus Marketing Forum

  5. CGDC Achievements to date • Meeting Chief of Staff for DRDLA Minister • Discussed inclusion of citrus projects in recap. • Agreed submission of data base to Minister. • Transformation desk visits to 3 Provinces. • Two meetings with Director of DRDLA to: • Assess progress. • Present paper on mentorship. • CGDC to draft a proposal to assist with the administration of recapitalisation funding.

  6. Future Activities (as per CGDC) • CGDC to draft a proposal to assist with the administration of recapitalisation funding • Transformation desk to develop a Master Plan for rural development and agrarian Transformation for Grower development
