  3. Drawing and Painting • Drawing or Painting on the computer is no different than using traditional media. • There are global skills, like reading or driving or walking that require you to learn in parts before you can use the whole skill !

  4. Drawing Skills • Once you learn the components, you will integrate them into a whole… • Think learning how to read • This is true for drawing just like you learned to read or play a sport • Remember when you were learning to: • Drive • Play Sports • Hobbies

  6. Five Skill of Drawing • These skills are the same for drawing on paper as drawing with a Mouse or Stylus. • Need to memorize (Remembering) and start to use the skills in this and all your CGA/Art Classes. • Edges, Spaces, Relationships, Lights and Shadows and the Whole

Digital • Digital describes electronic technology that generates, stores, and processes data or Art • This is what this class and program will focus on. • Computer Graphic Arts is using the computer to create and edit art work for many different ends. All the art work is created in digital or computer format.

  10. CGA 115 • This course is going to lay the Foundation of Knowledge for your Digital Painting/Drawing skills • We will build on these skills as you move into upper level CGA courses • AND you will apply your knowledge to solve design problems.
