  1. 11/23/13 – Children’s Day – General Info As part of Children’s Day 2013 Celebrations On November 23rd, KCA-SC is now inviting entries in various categories Please note that all entries are open to children of KCA Members only. New members are always welcome! Venue: Cabrillo High School,2001 Santa Fe Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90810 Event Fee: Per Person: $10.   2. Fancy Dress/Fashion Show Continuing from last year, we are going to have a fancy dress for kids’ and those that are kids at heart! Requirement: All participants and their families should be members of KCA-SC. • Please submit the name of your little one before November 7th to the coordinators • We will introduce the youngest member to the KCA family in their cute dress on the stage! Parents are welcome to accompany their kids on stage. Parents are also encouraged to dress fancy along with the kids. • You will be present on stage until a photo is taken and the name is read out.

  3. Stage Presentation THEME FOR 2013 CHILDREN’S DAY STAGE PRESENTATION IS: ‘Amar Chitra Katha stories’ Guidelines: Any story from the famed ACK could be adapted for a drama/dance. The entry must be based on ACK book. • Presentation language is limited to Kannada. • Each presentation group should consist of minimum 5 kids. • Each presentation is limited to 15 minutes Please submit your entry with a title and the ACK-story it is based upon, number, and names of participants and parents, a brief description of act. Please ensure that participants are KCA-SC members. Please email us early of any requirements for additional props audio/video etc.  *Final Day to receive entries is October 20th Sunday 2013* *Based on number of entries we may have to short-list the entries. We should be able to let you know by October 23rd2013*

Art/Essay/Poetry Entries THEME FOR THE ENTRIES IS: ‘Amar ChitraKatha’ Art Entry Details & Guidelines: Children are free to draw a picture or pictures inspired by any Amar Chitra Katha story book • Artwork must be flat on a canvas or a paper, if it is a drawing. • Size is limited to 14’x18’, if it is a drawing. • PLEASE DO NOT label the art work with your name. • PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT the artwork prior to the event. Bring the art work on the day of the event. • Every effort will be made to secure the art works by KCA. In the event of any damage, KCA will not be held responsible in any way. • Those art works will be displayed during the Children’s day program and must be picked up by the end of the program. Essay/Poetry Entry Details & Guidelines: • Essays and Poetry is limited to 400 words; Minimum 4 lines for a Poetry • Essays can be based on a theme of Amar Chitra Katha (say Mythology) • Essays and Poetry can be written in Kannada or English • Entries must be submitted via email (scan/picture if handwritten) to the coordinators mentioned below • Please mention the names of your parents in your submission Last date for submission is November 15th 2013 Prizes for the above category will be awarded in each of Elementary, Middle and High school groups
