E E C C A P R O J E C T Introduction and objective • Project proposed within the Action Plan for countries of EECCA; • Project aims at the HM Protocol, POPs Protocol and the Gothenburg Protocol under the CLRTAP; • Objective – facilitation of the CLRTAP implementation in the partner countries and ratification of the Protocols. Elaboration phase:outputs (cont.) • Regional expert group of 15-20 experts; • Internet platform for information exchange and dissemination; • Model air emission inventories for the indicative sectors; • Registry of cost-effective regionally available abatement techniques; • 15-20 regional experts trained on technical and policy issues under the CLRTAP. Implementation phase: outputs • National awareness raising seminars on air quality issues and related approaches under the CLRTAP at the middle and higher governmental levels in the partner countries; • Developed position of the respective national Governmental bodies on the Implementation plans aimed at the ratification of the CLRTAP Protocols; • Ratification of the CLRTAP Protocols by the partner countries. E E C C A P R O J E C T Project summary • Joint effort by three countries of EECCA; • Aims at implementation and ratification of the HMs, POPs and Gothenburg Protocols under the CLRTAP; • Tentative timeframe of 2 years, albeit, national legal procedures may take longer; • Overall budget of 1 Mln.
