  3. Civil War Farm House She moved with her family to Gadsden, Alabama in 1852.

  4. The Civil War started in 1861 between the Union and Confedracy.

  5. General Nathan Bedford Forrest was told to stop Colonel Abel Streight. Colonel Streight burned down the bridge that crossed Black Creek so General Forrest could not get across the creek and stop him.

  6. Emma Sansom and General Nathan Bedford Forrest General Forrest saw Emma Sansom’s farm and went to ask if she could show them away to cross the creek. She was only 15 years old.

  7. Emma Sansom showed General Forrest where he could cross the creek safely. After she helped him he asked for a lock of here hair. Emma Sansom Guides General Forrest
