Problem Search Starting point Current Alarm-Clocks • Everyone has experience of being late in the morning. • No alarm clock can perfectly recognize whether the person wakes up or not. • Failed to wake up • Not enough alarm clocks ∴ The problem: Current alarm clocks cannot wake us up perfectly.

Problem Definition • Key Question: Can alarm clock be smarter? • People fall asleep again after turning the alarm clock off. • Sometimes even when people wake up, alarm unnecessarily vibrates. • The alarm doesn’t have the ability to recognize whether the person felt asleep or not. • What do we want from the alarm clock? • It rings when we are sleeping. • It does not ring when we wake up. • It will ring again even if we fall asleep after turning the clock off. ∴ Future Plan: We will develop an alarm clock that will satisfy all the above criteria.
