  4. Heading • The heading includes your address and the date. • Example: P.O. Box 1425 Aguadilla, Puerto Rico 00604 February 11, 2014

  5. Salutation • This is a greeting to the person in which the letter is intended to be. It’s usually Dear ____________: (it could be followed by a colon or a comma) • Example: P.O. Box 1425 Aguadilla, Puerto Rico 00604 February 11, 2014 Dear Laly:

  6. Body • This is the part of the letter in which you provide information or ask questions to the person you are writing the correspondence. • Example: I hope you are doing fine. In this side I can tell that everything has been great. I heard that you are visiting the town next month and I wanted to let you know that I am at my best response to be your tour guide. Martha will join us for the party. We are really looking forward for your visit, let’s see if we can catch up with all the things that have been happening in our lives lately.

  7. Complimentary Close • This is the closing of the letter. It is very important to capitalize the first letter of this sentence or phrase and use a comma at the end of it. • Example: Your friend,

  8. Signature • This is your name and it goes under the complimentary close. • Example: Your friend, Julie Pearson

  13. The teacher will provide a name and address of a classmate to each student. Each student will be responsible of creating a letter to that classmate. The letter should be descriptive about the classmate’s personality, values, principles, etc. Also, include your good wishes for valentine’s day.
