  2. Objective • Designed to teach students the format of writing a simple letter.

  3. Benefits • Helps students remember the format of a letter rather than having to memorize the format. • Gives students a fun and kinesthetic way to learn the format of a letter. • Engaging and motivating for students. • Works best with early elementary grades. • Easy 5 step process.

  4. First Step • Heading • This is where the “date” goes.

  5. Second Step • Greeting • This is where you begin the letter with phrases such as “Dear…….”

  6. Third Step • Body • The content of the letter comes next.

  7. Fourth Step • Closing • This is where you close the letter with phrases such as “Sincerely”, & “Your friend”.

  8. Fifth Step • Signature • Have the students sign their name with their foot.

  9. Tips & Considerations • Best implemented after modeling and teaching students how to write a format of a letter. • Can add music or create a song that goes along with the movements.
