  4. Gender Studies • Volman, conducted studies on boys and girls in order to determine if there were differences(1997) • Gender Bias in Teaching includes: • Taking over pc more from girls • Giving fewer turns to girls • Addressing boys as “experts” more often (Sanders and Stone, 1980)

  6. Gender Related Differences in the ISP • Information overload occurs with children as it does with adults (Akins, 1998) • This study targeted 4th and 8th graders • Students felt bulging, bursting, exploding, headache, fatigue with information
