  2. What is Learning? • Is a process just like thinking. • Everlasting change in behavior from an experience. • Mental sign from a form of experience.

  5. Accomplishments • Wrote poems and short stories. • Wrote for school papers. • Wrote newspapers articles. • Was a psychology teacher and writer.

  6. Behaviorists theory • Behaviorism is a proportion of behavior more than thinking or feeling. • People react more to their environment they are in. • Observance of behavior.

Behaviorists theory includes: • Operant Conditioning • Reinforcing Stimulus • Extinction • Schedule of Reinforcement • Continuous Reinforcement • Fixed Ratio Schedule • Shaping • B-mod • Behavior is followed by an effect of experiencing and engaging so the behavior will repeat itself in the future.

  10. Accomplishments • Published an article at age 11. • Published his findings of children’s error. • Made International Centre of Genetic Epistemology at Geneva

  11. Cognitivists Theory • Is trying to learn how and why people learn by the process of cognitive activity. • (Humans are not animals) • Individuals learn by the different periods of their lives. • Making decisions as they follow their goals.

  12. Cognitivists Include: 2 Functions • Organisation • Adaptation 4 Stages • Sensorimotor (0-2 years) • Pre-operational (2-7 years) • Concrete Operational Period (7-11 years) • Formal Operational Period (11+ years)

  13. Impact Teaching • These two learning theories impact our teaching and trainings by: • Everybody learns in a different way • By knowing these two theories you can help your learners learn.

  14. Evaluation • UTB applies Cognitive & Behavioral Theories by: • Having individual classes on the subject matter such as EDCI 6304 and EPSY 6322. • They use the cognitive model for their TTT Program.
