  3. Activity: First Past the Post • It’s time to vote! • A plurality is the choice that got the largest number of votes • A majority is more than 50% of all the votes cast • “First Past the Post” is when candidates win with a plurality of votes

  4. Activity: Who Gets to Vote? • Who should be allowed to vote? Why? • Canada’s definition of citizenship has changed over time. Who can vote now that couldn’t before? • Find your MP on Citizen Factory – would you vote for them?

  5. Activity: Who Gets to Vote? Even if you can’t vote yet, you can still take action: • Write a Letter to Your MP • Join a Political Party • Start a petition • Make your voice heard

  6. If you never vote in elections, why would politicians care what you think?
