  1. Chapter 10 Section 41. 1812 War Begins A. Britain didn’t want war 1. They were fighting with France 2. They called off the blockade 3. News traveled slowly, so war happened anyway

  4. 2nd Part of War 2. 1814 Britain focused on the war with US a. July 1814- British burned down the Whitehouse b. August 1814- Battle at Ft. McHenry – Baltimore

  5. 2nd Part of War c. September 1814 - British tried to win Lake Champlain (Brits lost) d. December 1814 - British tried to win New Orleans WASTE!! (Brits lost) Andrew Jackson became famous at Battle of New Orleans
