  2. Printed circuit boards are common components used in all electronic devices. These boards are commonly in their green iconic color. Here are several reasons why green is the standard color for pcbs.

  3. Top 4 possible reasons why the majority of the pcbs are green • Materials used in making solder mask are naturally green- The glass epoxy is a natural green tint • The military’s role in PCB development- The United States Military found out that green was the most effective color for PCBs- PCB manufacturers who supplied the military made it a norm to produce green boards • Green in visually superior and helps relieve fatigue- When looking at something small and complicated, choosing green makes sense because it is easiest on the eyes- Green reduces eye strain to employees who conduct manual screening of PCB • Choosing green as the color for PCBs is Cheaper- Green is less expensive to use than other colors.

  4. Do PCBs have to be green? • Most PCBs are green but they do not have to be in that color • The color of PCBs does not have an impact on its performance but the resolution changes.  • Solder mask is more difficult to see on different colored boards.

  5. Pcbs do not need to be always green, but it has been the standard color for pcbs for several important reasons. https://svtronics.com/blog/how-did-printed-circuit-boards-become-the-standard-green-that-they-are-today/
