  2. Goals: Learn to tell time at a quarter after, half past, and a quarter till.

  3. Quarters Everywhere 4 quarters = $1.00 so there are 4 quarters in 1 hour.

  4. 1 quarter = 15 minutes 2 quarters = 30 minutes 3 quarters = 45 minutes4 quarters = 1 hour

  5. I hour = 60 minutes and it’s name is o’clock Remember O’clock = 60 minutes or 4 quarters

  6. ½ half hour = 30 minutes past the hour or 2 quarters

  7. A quarter past = 15 minutes after the hour or 1 quarter That is 1:15 or 15 minutes after 1:00

  8. A quarter till = 15 minutes till the next hour 4:45 = 15 minutes till 5:00

  9. Remember there are 4 quarters in $1:00 and a clock is divided into four sections Each section is 15 minutes long. Not 11 or 12 minutes, 15 minutes.

  10. Put on Your Thinking Caps! A quarter past is 8:15. A quarter till 9:00 is 8:30 Half past 8:00 is 8:45
