  2. history • Skeleton started in 1928 and was only for men. In 2002, skeleton became a womens event at the Olympics in salt lake city.

  3. First gold medal • Tristan gale of the usa won the first ever gold medal in women’s skeleton.

  4. What the athletes do in skeleton • The athletes have a little sled that they lay down on going head first. They are men and women. Their sleds are on ice going at the speed of 70-140 mph.

  5. Clothing • They wear a tight racing suit, helmet, gloves, and shoes that have spikes on the bottom.

  6. Olympic record • Lizzy yarnold of great Britain scores a time of 56.89 sec.
