  • goddess – a female being that is believed to be immortal, more powerful than humans, and wants to be worshipped

  • Each god or goddess was worshipped as a deity and ruled over certain areas of the Greeks’ lives.

  • Father Heaven = Uranus

  • Gaea + Uranus = The Titans

  • The Titans, also known as the elder gods, ruled the earth before the Olympians overthrew them.

  • Cronus, ruler of the Titans,was dethroned by his son Zeus.

  • Most of the Titans fought with Cronus against Zeus and were punished by being banished to Tartarus.
