  1. Nasal Mucosa and Tongue In the nasal mucosa sensory nerve endings (olfactory nerves) innervates and responsible for the olfaction. In the mucosa of the tongue there are fungiform, vallate and folliate papillae. These papillae’s are provided with the taste bud. Taste bud gives the sense of taste.

  2. SKin Skin is responsible for the feelings of touch, pressure, heat and cold. These feeling are carryout by the sensory receptors in the different layer of skin which are: • Receptors for touch and pressure: (a) Free nerve endings (b) Merkel cells (c) Meissner,s corpuscle, and (d) Pacinian corpuscle (2) Receptors for Cold: End bulb of Krause. (3) Receptor for warmth: Ruffini corpuscle.
