SVD2 Level-1 Trigger Testing and Optimization with PPGs in Particle Detection Systems

This document outlines the testing of the SVD2 Level-1 Trigger using Pulse Pattern Generators (PPGs), specifically the performance evaluation involving random pulse patterns. With successful tests yielding no errors over 40,000 events and a latency of approximately 1700ns, the results are compared with simulation data. The ongoing setup checks with CDC inputs and the self-trigger have identified a higher trigger rate, requiring collaboration with CDC teams. Additionally, issues with the new MonTAL1T initialization and a broken pin on the L1T board necessitate resolution for effective system performance.

  1. L1 Trigger Output Input Delayed Signal Stretched Signal SVD2 Level-1 Trigger – Test with PPGs (H. Kurashiro, K. Hasuko) • Test with SVD/CDC hit emulator • Using pulse-pattern generators (PPGs) • Random pattern including timing information; compared with simulation results • No error / 40K events • Latency~1700ns(L1T latency~ 200ns) • Width~180ns K Hasuko - Belle/SVD Meeting

  2. SVD2 Level-1 Trigger - @EH • Final set up almost completed • Checked data flow with CDC inputs and CDC self-trigger (cosmic-rays; back-to-back) • Using MonTAL1T-PC • SVD masked • Higher trigger rate (~3 times); half of events have #hit wedges = 4=> discuss with CDC people • Checked L1T/MonTA functionalities • Problems • New MonTAL1T cannot be initialized (Old one works) • L1T-full board to be checked/fixed (pin broken) K Hasuko - Belle/SVD Meeting

  3. SVD2 Level-1 Trigger – TO DO • Make SVD-CDC matching! • Currently SVD (TA) signal rate too high • Can be done after TA tuning? • Finalize control software K Hasuko - Belle/SVD Meeting
