  2. Physical Appearance Weight about 200 to 300 pounds Length 6 feet High Black Ears, Eyes, Patches muzzles and shoulders. The rest of the pandas body is white. Pandas have large molar teeth and strong jaw muscles for crushing tough bamboo

  3. Habitat • Pandas live in the high mountains of china. • They live in the thick bamboo forest that is about 8,500 to 11,500 feet elevation. • Pandas lived once in lowland areas but now farming forest and clearing and other development restrict giant pandas to live in the mountains.

  4. Diet • Pandas feed mostly on bamboo. They also eat a tall woody plant full of fiber they also eat flowers and vines. • The pandas digestive system does not absorb fiber so it must eat a lot. • In zoos they eat bamboo, sugarcane ,rice , and gruel and a high fiber biscuit , carrots , apples ,and sweet potatoes.

  5. Special Details • The pandas life span is unknown but captivity averages more than 20 years • Pandas eyes open at six to eight weeks. • The cub starts to move at three months.

  6. Endangered • The panda is one of the most threatened animals in the world. • Scientists predict that in the year 2025 there will be 5,000 to 0 Pandas left on earth • There are about 1,000 Pandas left in the wild and about 140 in zoos and breeding centers

  7. Conclusion • People have passed laws but have been unsuccessful protecting the Panda. • The Panda is a very interesting mammal. It would be a great loss if they were extinct • What would you do to Protect the Panda?
