  10. Daily Life In the Mission(6) Life was not easy in the missions. Many Missions were isolated and located in hostile Native American territory.

Daily Life (Native Americans)(7) • Friars recruited Indians to live and work in the Mission • Work consisted of farming, building and repairing buildings and churches • Performed the majority of the physical labor and upkeep of the mission • Indians also had to attend church and learn Spanish and Catholicism
