  1. Detailed visual guide for all Air Jordan | IDEAL SPORT This is an unusual post. Today we discuss everything from A to Z about the legacy that the legend began back in 1984 and continues to exist 36 years later. A legacy that helped create the sneaker retail and resale industry from the ground up. From a freshman with a bright future in the NBA to building one of the biggest sneaker brands on and off the basketball court. Michael Jordan has definitely left a mark on everyone's hearts and memories. So let's get down to business and find out everything there is to know about the Air Jordan! Michael "Air" Jordan Michael Jeffrey Jordan 4 metallic was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1963. He was an athletic child and grew up to receive basketball scholarships from various universities. He went on a UNC basketball scholarship and his career took off. In 1984, Jordan entered the NBA draft and became the 3rd number selected by the Chicago Bulls. His high athleticism earned him the nicknames "Air Jordan" and "His Airness" among many others. However, as important as he was on the hardwood floor, Jordan got around that and became a cultural icon. He is still the subject of debate about whether he or LeBron James is the best. Basketball career If you were doing your homework after watching The Last Dance on Netflix, you would know that in the years Jordan was playing, the Chicago Bulls won a double-three of a point! The first three turfs occurred in the 1991-1993 seasons. After winning the 1992–1993 season, Jordan retired but returned less than 2 years later.

  2. Upon their return, the Chicago Bulls managed to hit three more balls during the 1995-1998 seasons. Due to tensions and management disagreements, 1998 was the last year that Phil Jackson coached the Bulls. But Jordan wouldn't play for anyone else, and his second retirement followed. After his second retirement, Michael Jordan became president of basketball for the Washington Wizards in 2000. However, in late 2001, he returned from his retirement again to play for the Wizards. Finally, Jordan retired for a third and final time in 2003 at the age of 41. Today, many years after his last retirement, the Air Jordan still imprints itself in the heart of every basketball fan and sneakerhead. How did the collaboration with Air Jordan start? We can't separate Jordan's basketball career from the Nike deal. However, here we will focus on the business side of things. As a rookie, Jordan initially wanted to sign with Adidas and didn't even want to work with Nike because he didn't like their shoes. He preferred sneakers that touched the ground, in his opinion, Nike sneakers were high. However, Adidas turned down the offer because they "couldn't get th shoe to work". Converse didn't think they needed a newcomer when they had big deals with stars like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. Nike was keen to support basketball mainly because it had a reputation at the time as a manufacturer of athletic shoes. So after taking advice from his parents and visiting Nike headquarters, Jordan was offered a $500,000/5 year deal on his own line of shoes: the Air Jordan! According to Jordan, his father told him that he would be a fool not to take the deal. MJ ended up signing the deal and the rest is history! Jordan 4 metallicNike expected the Air Jordan 1 to generate about $3 million in revenue in its first four years. But Jordan Brand, like its namesake, made $126 million in its first year alone! The company has gone from an underdog in the basketball industry to a dominator with 68.3% of shoes worn in the NBA in 2020! And this is partly due to the collaboration with Jordan in 1984.
