  2. About the Author: Jeff Lemire was born & raised on a farm in Essex County, Canada. His he wrote and Essex County trilogy of graphic novels (Tales from the Farm, Ghost Stories, The Country Nurse. These novels have been nominated for multiple Eisner and Harvey Awards. In 2008, Jeff won the Schuster Award for Best Canadian Cartoonist, & The Doug Wright Award for Best Emerging Talent. He also won the American Library Association’s prestigious Alex Award, recognizing books for adults with specific teen appeal.

  9. Oh yeah. Back to the story. You see, Ever since my mom died of cancer- I’ve had to stay with my Uncle Ken. And Uncle Ken doesn’t know how to relate to kids very well. I don’t really blame him. he’s just never had any kids of his own… ya know?

  10. I’m Ken- Lester prances around the farm in a mask and cape. He’s always in his own little imaginary world. I’m just out of my element when it comes to that boy.

  11. OH! I almost forgot to tell you about my new friend! His name is Jimmy Lebeuf! Sound familiar?

  12. That’s because he used to be a LW for the Toronto Maple Leafs! -But now he runs the Esso Station up the street from my uncle’s farm.

  13. Sure, Jim may be 4xmy age! But who else is going to help me build defenses before the Aliens attack!!
