  1. Do Now Use the 1/2 sheet of paper at your desk to answer the question below: Should history be a graduation requirement in the Boston Public Schools? Why or why not? Explain your answer in complete sentences!!

  2. Today’s Key Questions: Why do we study history? (quote analysis activity-not included in slides yet) What is the background of my classmates?

  3. History Quote Walk! • Travel around the room and read the various quotes about history. • Mark it with • A star if you really agree with it • An international NO sign if you really disagree with it • A check if it strikes you in a powerful way

  4. Go back to the 3 quotes that struck you in some way—maybe you agreed with them, maybe you disagreed, maybe you could relate to it in some way. • Choose 3 and write them down in the 3 Through Bubbles on the sheet. • In the box next to where you write the quote, answer the following questions: • Why did you choose this quote? • What do you think it means?
