  4. Russ’s Adventure Read the story carefully, then answer the following questions by clicking on the correct answer. Russ was a rat that lived on a small farm. Many of his friends were animals. They all played together in the fields and in the barn at night. One day, Russ decided to go on an adventure with his friend Spencer, the spider. They decided to explore the house of the farmer. As they scurried along the field towards the house, they smelled something delicious. Soon, they discovered the smell was coming from the kitchen window where an apple pie was cooling. Together, they made their way up the side of the house and into the window. As soon as they had made it inside, they crept behind the pie. Russ said to Spencer, “Let’s take a bite of this warm apple pie. The farmer will never notice”. So they each took a small bite. However, the taste was so good that they could not stop themselves and eventually the whole pie was gone. “Oh no! What have we done?” said Spencer. “We ate it all. Hurry, we have to get back to the barn before the farmer sees!” replied Russ. So they took off out the window and past the field, all the way until they reached the safety of the barn. The next day, they noticed the farmer had baked a whole new pie and they took off on another adventure.
