This course is student-active in nature, and is designed to develop autonomous skills through an ordered approach to reading. It targets primarily comprehension and thinking skills and posits to train the students to read faster.
Course objectives • To inculcate the habit of reading in English, mostly at the general level. • To stimulate critical and participatory approaches to reading. • To develop autonomous skills in reading. • To develop mostly general lexical skills. • To encourage the development of reading-related skills such as anticipation, inferences, scanning and skimming.
