  2. The first games Physicist Willy Higginbotham invents the first "video game“ in 1958 at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, New York. His game, a table tennis-like game, was played on an oscilloscope.   3. 2ndgeneration of games Al Alcorn is hired by Atari to program video games. The first game created by Atari is Pong. The makers name it Pong after the sound of a ball hitting the paddle. Midway (Taito in Japan) introduces Space Invaders into arcades. It is the first arcade game that tracks and displays high scores. It is so wildly popular in Japan that fans cause a national coin shortage. Arcade games was invented 20 years after the first video game (tennis for two) uses cartridges alsoAtari was the first video game company to release home consoles.

  4. 3rd generation of games The birth of 3rd generations of games Cinematronics and Tailo create the first Laser CD game called Dragon’s Lair in 1983 also during this year one of the first handheld console was created the Nintendo Gameboy and 6 years later NEC makes the first console to play CD based games. Popular games like mortal combat and DOOM all CD games and comes the most popular consoles that plays CD’s the PlayStation created by Sony.

  5. 4th generation of games In this generation of games (2004), game cartridge is now a distant memory and the 4 most dominate consoles is the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube and the home computer. And the two most dominate handheld consoles where the PSP and the Nintendo DS. The world of gaming is changed from basic shapes to realistic humans, cars and other worlds

  6. 5th Generation of games As games advance so did the consoles. Finally comes the modern console like the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PSP and came advance that uses Blu-ray technology to play HD game like Battle field and call of duty. The handheld consoles is now the PSP Wide/Go and the Nintendo 3DS but no new company challenges these company. And as these consoles advanced so did the games now they have games in full 1080p HD and in 3D. From squares to people and rectangle to bats gaming has came far from the 1950s but this isn't the end of gaming there will be more advanced games and console that will amaze us.
